3 Social Media Strategies Every Business Owner Should Know
Sorry but you Need a Strong Social Media Presence

A strong social media presence is crucial for small businesses aiming to grow. Social media platforms offer unparalleled opportunities for businesses to reach and engage with their target audiences.
And it’s FREE.
As for myself, I started with social media (still use it) that helped my business practically go viral. Most small businesses don’t have ad budgets or funding to create ad campaigns or hire website experts. However, utilizing social media should be your go to right now.

You get to establish your audience, you can show credibility, you can build an email list, and more.
Not to mention, A strong social media presence also contributes to search engine optimization (SEO), as search engines increasingly take social signals into account when ranking websites. This means that an active and engaging social media profile can improve your website's visibility on search engines, driving more organic traffic. 👀
1. Choosing the Right Platforms for Your Business
Not all social media platforms are created equal, and it’s essential to choose the one(s) that best align with your business goals and target audience. Here’s a quick guide to help you decide:
Facebook: Ideal for businesses targeting a broad audience. It’s great for sharing updates, engaging with customers through comments and messages, and running targeted ad campaigns.
Instagram: Perfect for businesses with a strong visual component. This platform is highly effective for reaching younger demographics and showcasing products through photos and videos.
TikTok: Best to reach younger audiences with short, engaging video content. TikTok is ideal for creative and viral marketing campaigns. The platform's algorithm favors content discovery, making it easier for small businesses to go viral and reach large audiences quickly.
X (formerly Twitter): Useful for businesses that want to share timely updates, engage in conversations, and build a brand voice. It’s particularly effective for news, entertainment, and tech industries.
Pinterest: Great for businesses in the fashion, home decor, stationery, services, food industries and plenty more. It’s a visually-driven platform that helps in driving traffic to your website.
Don’t stress yourself out with all these platforms. Pick 1 and grow it for at least 6 months. If you feel you have a consistent routine you can expand to two. If you are a one person show, social media is time consuming, so take your time!
2. Crafting Engaging Content
Creating engaging content is at the heart of any successful social media strategy. Here are some tips to keep your content fresh and captivating:
Know Your Audience: Understanding your audience’s interests, preferences, and pain points will help you create content that resonates with them.
Mix It Up: Use a variety of content types, such as images, videos, infographics, and blog posts, to keep your audience engaged.
Tell Stories: People connect with stories. Share your business’s journey, customer testimonials, and behind-the-scenes glimpses to build a deeper connection with your audience.
Use Visuals: High-quality images and videos can significantly boost engagement. Invest in good photography and video production to make your posts stand out.
Include Calls-to-Action (CTAs): Encourage your audience to take action, whether it’s visiting your website, signing up for a newsletter, making a purchase or simply engaging on a post. Examples like: “Would you wear this out?” “Comment ‘ME’ to get yours” “Shop these exclusives with the link in my bio” “Tag your bestie.”
Use SEO keywords and hashtags in your posts. Keep a collection of them in your phone notes and change them depending on what content/product/service you’re posting. Here’s an example below:

3. Scheduling and Consistency
Consistency is key to maintaining a strong social media presence. Here’s how to stay on track:
Create a Content Calendar: Plan your posts in advance to ensure a consistent posting schedule. This will help you stay organized and avoid last-minute scrambles for content. Here is a freebie content calendar you can use. (This was made under my IG growth account @hellosocialbyjas.)
